As part of his revamp of The San Roque Club Golf Academy, San Roque professional Thomas Johansson has turned his attention to one of the most important sections of the golfing world - Juniors. “Juniors are the future of the game so it is important to nurture players and keep their attention whilst they are still young. There are plenty more sports a child can choose from but if we can make the teaching of golf fun and inventive, then there is more of a chance the child will choose to play golf especially if the skills learnt can complement other sports the child may play”, says Thomas.
So on the 6th August Thomas held his first GOLF FUN DAY at the club. There was a mix of golf and baseball, fun warm up exercises, balance and coordination drills as well as a well earned cupcake break! The feedback has been overwhelming and Thomas already has a list of participants for the next Fun Day which will be held in October. All children are welcome, so if you would like your child to participate in the October Fun Day please email Thomas at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thomas has also started his Junior training which will run throughout the year every Saturday between 10:00 and 12:00. Children can expect to practise technique for one hour and play some fun games and competitions during the second hour.
