Dear San Roque members,

On Saturday morning, c. 65 members (plus a further 20 via SKYPE) gathered at the Club for a Members General Meeting. The Meeting commenced with informative presentations from Dmitry Kozachenko & Stephen Dundas from Golf Estates Management and was followed by a lengthy Q&A session. Having spoken with members over the weekend, feedback has been extremely positive and I think we can look forward to an exciting future at the Club. For those that were unable to attend, Alicia is drawing up detailed minutes to the meeting and these will be distributed later in the week.

I wanted to highlight one point – Stephen Dundas stated how impressed he was by the passion that members have for their club and stressed his desire to hear all ideas that members may have. I know that you have many ideas for our golf club and I would encourage you to email Stephen ( with your thoughts. Golf Estates are about to embark on a significant investment on the course and clubhouse and there is little point suggesting your ideas when it is too late!

Latest results
The high winds continued last week and the course remained pretty dry until much needed rain on Saturday evening. 18 players rolled up last Tuesday and Chris Hutchin took the honours with a welcome return to form and an excellent 38 points. Chris Harris posted a very good 37 points to take second place with Derek Rogers (36pts) back in third. On Thursday, scoring was again impressive, but in the end, Eric Taylor ran out a comfortable winner with 38 points. David MacGregor (35pts) was second and Neville Kutner came third with 34 points.

The rain stayed away on Sunday morning and 25 players competed in the ever popular three club challenge. A unique competition that certainly makes you think, although it’s not always easy getting out of compacted sand with a nine iron! It turned out to be a great day for the Savitz family as Agi won the Ladies tournament with 30 points and Norman won the Men’s tournament with an impressive 36 points – very well played guys! Elisa Runo was second in the Ladies competition with 28 points and Hugh Richards and Stephen Tate were second and third respectively in the Men’s (both with 32 points). You wouldn’t want to play this format every week, but I think it definitely merits its place on the calendar!
