San Roque Ladies Newsletter
Week ending 7 July 2019

Last week’s roll up results:

On Tuesday 7 ladies played and the roll up was won by Denise Moodie with 31 points with Pat French in second place with 27 points.

On Thursday 10 ladies played with Pip Vincent, on her return, winning with 36 points closely followed by Agi Savitz with 35 points and Liz Griffiths third with 33 points.

On Monday the ladies team played the away leg of the Alcaidesa interclub and came away 0-3 down – let us hope that the home leg can reverse that result.

Thursday was a very significant day in the San Roque story as the old bar and restaurant was closed and the Tony Jacklin house reopened as the Club bar and restaurant. There is an interesting menu and a very warm welcome to everyone. The view from the front terrace across the New Course is amazing. Olivier and his team welcome comments.

On Saturday the Sotogrande leg of the Cuadrangular tournament was played – San Roque ended up in third place with an average of 33.5 points per player. Sotogrande were first with an average of 35.9 points and Aloha second with 34.3 points. The San Roque leg which was cancelled last week will be played but the date has not yet been confirmed.

This week there are the usual Tuesday and Thursday roll ups and the home leg of the interclub with Alcaidesa ladies.

At the weekend there are 2 competitions – on Saturday is the Parkinson’s Charity Day – the golf will be followed by cocktails at the Restaurant. On Sunday is International day which is a pairs better ball competition with each pair representing a different country. After the competition there will be a 3 course Sunday Roast lunch (including wine) for €35. Please support these events. Lists are on the notice boards.

Have a great golfing week.
