Summer is here and we are seeing the return of a number of ladies and their friends – welcome/welcome back.

Ten ladies played in the Tuesday roll up on a very hot and wind free day. The winner was Anne Middlehurst with a fabulous 38 points with Noelle Casey second with 36 points and Penny Cooke third with 33 points.

On Thursday there were 10 ladies in the roll up with some great scores – 5 having over 35 points or more. Following from Tuesday’s great score and winning again was Anne Middlehurst with 40 points and a handicap cut to 16.1. Pip Vincent took second place with 37 points and Noelle Casey gets another mention being third with 36 points.

The annual San Miguel competition was held on Saturday. The sponsors were very generous especially if you enjoy beer. There was a great spread by the tenth tee and the golf was followed by hot dogs and burgers by the 18th green with the results presentation in the TJ House with yet more beer and tapas. The winner of the ladies was Erna Van den Steen with 40 points and getting entry into the final at Marbella Golf. Second was a lady who has been prominent in the prizes this week – Anne Middlehurst – with 36 points off her new handicap. Noelle Casey won longest drive. There was also a card draw with some great prizes for the lucky ones. I am sure the photos will be circulated by San Roque in the near future.

On Sunday 10 ladies contested the August ranking with Irene Baltus coming out on top with 39 points and a handicap cut to 21.1, followed by Anne Middlehurst with another 36 points (how well she is playing at the moment!), Elisa was third with 35 points and Agi fourth with 32 points.

This week there are the usual ladies roll ups on Tuesday and Thursday – if possible please sign up so that we can ensure sufficient tee times are available.

The next nine and dine is on Friday 9 August at 4pm – please sign up on the notice board.

On Saturday is the Texas Scramble and Andalusian Summer Party on Saturday 10 August. The cost of the party is 60 euros and the dress code is ‘Summer chic’ – as usual there is a sign up sheet on the notice board.

Hope you all have a great week whether golfing or not.
