As the heat continues so does the golf and social program of the San Roque Club. For those of you on holiday I hope you are having a great time and for everyone else I hope that all is well.
On Tuesday 9 ladies played in the roll up in very hot conditions. Anne Middlehurst won – again – with a superb 37 points and a handicap cut to 15.8 – what great form she is in. Irene Baltus was second with 29 points and in third was Rachel also with 29 points.
9 ladies also played in Thursday’s roll up. This time Pip Vincent took the honors with a magnificent 39 points and a handicap cut to 17, Irene Baltus was second with 37 points and a handicap cut to 20.8 and Noelle Casey was third with 34 points.
On Friday was the second nine and dine – and of the ladies first was Agi and second was Helen Tallentire. This event will be repeated on Friday – please sign the list on the notice board.
On Saturday was the Texas Scramble with 56 players taking part. The winning team was Pip and Tim Vincent, Matt Payne and Graeme Willis, second was Gary Ward, Chris Eriksson, Tony Maycock and Julian Menashe and third Ruth Bailey, Tony Flanagan, Amanda and Andy Stanford. This was followed by an excellent Andalusian evening in the TJ House – there was good food and wine and a few attempts at flamenco dancing with various levels of success.
In the forthcoming week there are the usual roll ups on Tuesday and Thursday.
On Sunday the competition is for the President’s Cup – it is an individual stroke play competition starting at 9:30 followed by a tapas lunch courtesy of the club.
I hope you have a great week whatever you are doing.
